Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2, 2026
This policy explains what Fluent AI (the "App") collects, why, and what happens to it. We keep it short because there isn't much to it.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with email, Apple, Google, or LINE, we receive your name, email address (if the provider shares it), and profile picture. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider.
- What you ask us to translate. Text you type or share, and audio you record when you use the microphone. Audio is converted to text and translated; it is not used for anything else.
- Chats. If you chat with another Fluent AI user, the messages you send are stored so both of you can read them.
- Basic technical data. Device type and app version, so we can fix crashes and problems.
Who processes it
To translate and speak, the App sends your text or audio to AI providers, currently OpenAI and Google. They process it to produce the translation or the voice and are contractually bound not to use it to train their models. Data is stored with Convex (database) and Clerk (accounts).
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not read your other apps' messages. The App only sees what you send to it.
Retention and deletion
Translations on the Translate screen are not kept once you leave them, unless you choose to save them. Chats are kept until you delete them. You can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time from Settings inside the App, or by emailing us.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and note it in the App.
